The ensemble filoBarocco was founded in 2018 when its core members met at the conservatories of Lugano (CH) and Como (IT). Their first performances took place between Italian Switzerland and Northern Italy. In 2018 the group received a special mention from the jury of the International competition Marcello Pontillo in Florence for ‘best artistic project’ and in 2019 self-produced an independent recording simply named filoBarocco.
The ensemble has been invited to several international festivals and venues, including Ambronay Festival, Händel-festspiele Göttingen, Narodowe Forum Muzyki Wrocław, Festival de Torroella de Montgrí, Sofia Baroque Arts Festival e Ghislieri Musica.
Between 2020 and 2023 filoBarocco was selected for the prestigious EEEmerging programme (a European Union founded project for emerging ensembles) and has been invited for artistic residencies in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Latvia, United Kingdom and Romania.
filoBarocco features core members along with international guest soloists and chamber musicians, the most recent with the recorder player Erik Bosgraaf.
