A Woodpecker’s Love – The Sound of Woods

Presented by Nik Tarasov & Vincenta Prüger

Thursday 14th November, 4.30–5.30pm

Showing the different types of wood used for making recorders

For this lecture concert, two very distinguished presenters who are experts for this challenging topic have been commissioned: The famous Woodie Woodpecker and his beloved lady Woodeline are going to tell you about the various types of wood used for making recorders. As both of them love to listen to music and are a very knowledgeable audience, they have supported the project to build recorders out of their favourite woods over the centuries and have helped recorder makers internationally with their extraordinary knowledge in this vast field. This time Woody and Woodeline have decided to not only show their favourite trees visually but to bring recorder players Nik Tarasov and Vincenta Prüger with them on stage as their personal assistants to emphasise their different opinions with music. So, can the two wood-pecking experts decide which of the wood’s sound quality is the best?

This event is created for children and adults alike. Come and follow our musical and visual journey as we dive deep into the magical recorder forest.
