How does the tiniest recorder in the world sound? Why is a contrabass recorder… square? And how do you put a piece of music together, from scratch? Join recorder explorer Sarah in her workshop, as she attempts to answer these questions and create a whole new piece of music, with your help! Sarah’s friends Wallace & Gromit know that nothing ever goes to plan, but a musical inventor can always figure it out! Our interactive family concert will reveal all about the wonderful world of recorders, with plenty of laughs along the way.

About the performer
Sarah Jeffery is one of the world’s foremost promoters of the recorder, and a passionate champion of both early and contemporary music. She performs worldwide as a soloist, chamber musician, and as part of music-theatre productions. Sarah was appointed Professor of Recorder at the Royal College of Music in 2022. She is an award-winning author, publishing sheet music and method books with Hal Leonard and Schott. Sarah is widely known for her YouTube channel Team Recorder, which aims to bring accessible music education to its 220,000 strong audience.
